New regulations throughout construction sites in London require that construction plant and equipment over 10 years old must be replaced in order to meet Stage 3A standards for NOx and emissions. The new rules, beginning 1st September 2015, apply to non-road mobile machinery with net power between 27kW and 560kW.
The Mayor of London introduced and announced the new mandatory rules in the Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) published last year, in an effort to control dust and emissions on site during construction and demolition.

These London regulations specify that equipment over 10 years old must be replaced on construction sites in Central London and large developments in Outer London. There will be occasional exemptions for specialist construction machinery.

The Mayor’s office is working with industry experts, trade associations, and membership organizations in order to spread awareness and training sessions for the new rules. Bobcat of London is also happy to help companies with rule compliance and understanding.

With this change in law, now is the perfect time to purchase new, cleaner equipment from Bobcat of London.
